The 3 Questions Christians should know

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.-John1:1-5

These are the opening verses in the gospel according to Saint John, the beloved disciple of Christ. The way the author begins his opening words are very poetic and beautiful. It starts with the words 'In the beginning' which are coincidentally the opening words of the Bible in the book of Genesis.
This is one of the foundational verses used in the New Testament to refer to the deity of Christ. There are three questions that many Christians often encounter at some point of time and seek to find answers.

The 3 Questions
1. Is Jesus  God or the Son of God?
(Should a person pray to Jesus or God)
2. Where was Jesus in the times of the Old testament?
(Did Jesus, the 'Son' only came into existence in the times of the New testament)
3. Did Jesus ever refer to Himself as being 'God'?

Is it a sin or not?

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.

'It's not a sin' is an attitude that has been cultivated and one which people have  been forced to believe by others when faced with something they feel is wrong deep down inside. It's usually the first response we subconsciously use to justify ourselves when the other part of our subconscious tells us quite the opposite.
It's interesting to note that all religions talk about sin and the  consequences there-of. Even the atheist might be familiar with the seven deadly sins. It is not the objective of this article to explore what things are right or wrong, that's left for the seeker of truth to decide for himself. No man is perfect, we can only strive for perfection. True believers may be surprised when they realize that sin may be more than what they actually thought it was.
The story of the first sin where the devil tempted man to eat the forbidden fruit is well known but often the fact that the act of disobedience was actually considered a pretty serious sin is overlooked and the grave consequences of that one sin is history. If that is the case, much logic isn't required to determine what's right or wrong. Free will is something you decide to use, don't let others fool you into doing what you don't want to do.

Skyfall all set to roll

The news of MGM and Sony pictures registering domain names for the latest Bond flick and the list of the latest cast members now out for what seems to be the possible final outing of Daniel Craig as James Bond is creating waves of excitement among 007 audiences. Skyfall all set to be released on Nov 9, 2012 in the U.S. and to be directed by Sam Mendes is expected to follow a similar formula adopted by Martin Campbell for Casino Royale.
With a great cast assembled, Bond 23 may be the right start for James Bond in a new decade. Hope to hear more on this at the scheduled press conference next month preceding the production of the movie to be shot across India, China, Turkey and the U.K.
It would be interesting to see Ralph Fiennes, an established actor who has on numerous occasions been linked to playing James Bond now playing the villain. Bond may have finally met his match .
Cast
Judi Dench -  M
Naomie Harris  - Money Penny
Ralph Fiennes  - (ViIlain)
Javier Bardiem - (ViIlain)
Helen McCrory &  Berenice Marlohe - Bond girls

Unusual Interview Questions I stumbled upon

You might have  heard people saying that you  got to think out of the box when it comes to developing great ideas, especially at your workplace. Companies today are likely  to hire such people and I decided to have a look at some of the interesting interview questions I could gather from different reliable sources. I wasn't sure if these were edited before it reached my hands, but I did enjoy them. Most of these are aimed to assess the creativity, personality, wit and intelligence of the applicant and  have been really asked to  quite a no. of people.
My favorite  7.

The Root Of All Grief - Article - Andrew Wommack Ministries

Lessons from the three Temptations

                    The three tests

Test 1: The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell  this stone to become bread.”
Test 2: The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

The best James Bond actor?

Every 2 to 3 years, when EON productions leaks out classified information about the next Bond movie (Skyfall is the latest rumored title), fans around the world wait eagerly to watch their all time favorite spy to show up with his license to kill and thrill. For those who have been around since the beginning of the franchise growing up watching almost 50 years of non stop action, Sir Sean Connery may seem to be the best Bond by many.

The Silent Sufferer

The silent sufferer becomes  still
He holds his grief and sits down to think
Forced by the burden he carries within
He wonders how long must this go on?
A never ending show of pain and despair

A  sharp pain in his pounding chest
Reminds him of sorrow, his closest friend
He shuts his eyes and sees the dark
Only to be lit by images of his past
Flashing like bolts of lightning in the night

Historic move for Women in Saudi Arabia.

For the first time in Saudi Arabia, the largest country in the Arab Middle East which  is known for being very conservative , women can now vote and even run for elections. This comes as a surprise because this is a country where there are many restrictions normally imposed on women. The announcement was made by King Abdullah in a televised speech. The reigning King's effort to bring about reformation in women's rights in the country should be greatly applauded. Hopefully, this should bring about similar changes in other parts of the world where the light at the end of the tunnel is yet to be seen.

Is Laziness robbing your Wealth?

How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

This is a well known proverb which has tremendous practical value when understood properly. These are words of wisdom that serve as a warning to all who do not value time or waste it and sleep their way to poverty. A sluggard is someone who is habitually lazy and does no work. It doesn't mean you can't have that occasional nap or take time off to rest. It is only natural to work and earn your own living unless you have been fortunate enough to be born wealthy and live on without working. But even the wealthy have to work at keeping their wealth from losing it. Buckminster Fuller defined wealth as 'a person’s ability to survive so many number of days forward.' It may seem tempting to nurture the idea of making enough money so you don't have to work anymore and do all the things you enjoy, but wealth is more than money. True wealth is prosperity in its highest form, It is God given-Love,Life,Family are just a few to name. You could work your way to true wealth by learning to spend time wisely and make the remaining moments actually count.
Have a great week ahead!!!

Seeing things through the right perspective

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath - Matthew 13:12

In these days of economic turmoil, many people find themselves struggling to stay afloat, having bills to pay and families to take care of. Time and Money seem to be something that everyone lack. The popular saying that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer seems to be more true than ever. Why do some people constantly get ahead and others always find themselves behind and lacking. Although the verse above may be seen from a purely spiritual perspective alone, it also applies to man's economic situation as well. Propagandists of positive speaking and Laws of attraction have been more on the rise in the last few decades and their claims seem to be so good to be true, that when people try it out for a few days and nothing happens they give up.

Looking up the Citrus tree

Feed a Soul with that extra change in your pocket

There are many stats on the no. of starving people around the world. According to one report there are currently  1 BILLION people(that's about 1/6th of the worlds population that's malnourished.) The average person who eats 3 times(meals) a day, ends up eating 1095 times in a year(3x365).
People who usually tip at a restaurant, pay an average of 10-15% of the total bill.

Here are some interesting facts on how you could make a  difference by setting apart a small amount for each meal that you have.

1.)10% of  each meal =>By the end of the year you end up feeding
 110 people/ or giving away  110 meals(0.10x3x365) Wow!

2) 5% of each meal =>By the end of the year you end up feeding
55 people/or giving away  55 meals(0.05x3x365)

3) 1meal per week=>By the end of the year you end up feeding
54 people/or giving away 54 meals(1x54)

Even a very small percentage makes a difference when multiple people contribute. A great idea would be to make a small box exclusively for this purpose and putting in whatever you can each day, see it grow!

Tribute to Andy Garfield

It was sad to hear about the demise of Andy Garfield, best known for his leading role in the Television series Spartacus. He had been diagnosed with cancer couple of months ago and has  had an untimely death. I best remember him in the Australian Supernatural thriller Gabriel for which  he gained worldwide attention, playing the lead role of the compassionate Archangel Gabriel who tirelessly fights for the hopeless human race stuck in Purgatory and doesn't give up..

Two and a Half Men to Three Men

Two and a half men was fun to watch all these years especially with Charlie Sheen in the lead  immortalizing the central protagonist - Charlie Harper in the hit comedy series. Its a fact that no one else could play the character as good as Sheen,

The Word from High

The Word

From the heaven's far above

Bearing the message of Love
For all precious souls to repent

Expendables 2 - Rocky Terminators Die Hard

Expendables-2 Update: Audiences who grew up in the 80's and 90's watching old school action movies of Hollywood tough guys like Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis in classics like the Terminator, Rambo and Die Hard series, might find it quite interesting that these macho men are still around doing regular business, as they along with their kids watch in awe the same actors performing wonders on screen and more sequels even after all these years.

The Passion of the Christ Review

Films on Christian themes have been around for a long time. Some of them like Jesus of Nazareth have made pretty good impressions and still stand out as classics. But who would have thought that a movie shot in a completely foreign language (mostly Aramaic with only English subtitles) on a relatively short budget would go on to be the highest grossing foreign film ever, the second being
Jet Li's epic action drama Hero.

Casino Royale Review

The year is 2006 and we have a new Bond and he's blonde. EON productions decision to reboot the franchise by taking the character back to its roots with a new actor might have not been a bad idea after all. In fact, it was a good one, Casino Royale was one of the top grossing Bond movies of all time when it was released. During the Brosnan era, it was unimaginable to think of a replacement. He was the perfect Bond and had brought a unique style to the character and a renewed interest among younger audiences.

John Rambo Review

Rambo is one of the few classic action characters that have stood the test of time. The man who speaks few words, blows up things and kills all the baddies is a hero for all action movie lovers. With 3 successful Rambo movies in the 80's, Sylvester Stallone's attempt to make a come back with a 4th sequel was also seen as an attempt to revive his film career. Well he does manage to pull it off. Even with  the success of Rocky Balboa in 2006, there was a certain skepticism about the relevance of bringing back a 60+ Vietnam war veteran in a more sophisticated world. Though the idea might have seemed unrealistic, once you see the bulked up Stallone in perfect shape doing what he's really good at on screen, all those doubts fade away. "Live for nothing or Die for something", an aged but angry Rambo says, holding a bow ready to pull an arrow aimed at a mercenaries face.
In the latest plot,  Rambo has been living a solitary life as a boatman and catching poisonous snakes for a living. When a few Christian missionaries seek his assistance in taking them to Burma to provide the persecuted Karen tribe with prayer books and medical supplies, John Rambo, takes them in his boat, though he initially refuses, due to the persistence of Sarah, the only lady missionary among the group. However, Rambo is not fully convinced that they would be able to make any change. He drops them off at a location after having faced a violent confrontation with Burmese pirates. A few days later he is visited by the pastor of the church that sent the human rights group, who informs him that they never returned back, and he requests Rambo's help in dropping off a few hired mercenaries at the same spot where the group was left. What follows is a non stop ride of extreme action where in the process of rescuing the hostages, you'll come to see the bloodiest scenes that could happen in war and may action maniacs a huge adrenaline rush. For some it might simply look like a bloody action movie with explicit images, but for those who understand John Rambo and love some old school  action, you won't be disappointed. Its a thrill of a ride with the maximum kills in any Rambo movie and a worthy ending to the series.
